OPEN Finance leverages the power and expertise of the financial services industry to drive forward LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion. OPEN Finance is the only non-profit, volunteer organization that:

Committees driving LGBTQ+ equality

OPEN Finance was formed in 2006 and has seen exponential growth in engagement and membership ever since. Initially formed as a networking group for LGBTQ+ finance professionals, the scale, reach, and impact of OPEN Finance has evolved year over year and has delivered tangible and measurable change. With 38 member firms and more than 5,000 professionals reached, OPEN Finance has been able to drive serious change in the industry through 7 committees led by 16 corporate leaders.

68% of member firms achieved a perfect score on the HRC Corporate Equality Index
Increased signatories to the UN Standards of Conduct for LGBTQ+ inclusion from 2 to almost 20 following the inaugural Forum in 2017
29 firms participating in the business amicus curiae brief in the Obergefell case with help from OPEN Finance
First best practice shared in 2011 to help firms adopt same-sex domestic partnership benefits tax equalization

OPEN FINANCE FORUM

The Forum is the only one-day, action-packed conference that focuses exclusively on the impact the financial services industry can have in creating inclusive workplaces and communities for LGBTQ+ and allies globally. OPEN Finance is able to differentiate itself from other organizations by using regular meetings and ongoing roundtables to follow-up on action items developed at the Forum through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive networking sessions.

Participation in the Forum provides a platform for firms to:

Demonstrate the inclusive nature of their company’s culture
Celebrate thought leadership in LGTBQ+ inclusiveness and advocacy
